Tim Atkins, CFP®
President
Tim has over 20 years of experience providing financial advice to institutions as well as individual investors. He has worked at Cambridge Associates, Aronson+Johnson+Ortiz, and most recently at UNC, gaining valuable knowledge of how institutions approach investing and asset allocation. Tim’s primary goal is to create a partnership with clients that results in a comprehensive review of their finances before making prudent recommendations to attain their objectives.
For the past 10 years, Tim has worked with individuals and small businesses in providing financial services for investing, financial planning, and risk management. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, and is registered with FINRA for securities with a Series 7 license, investment advisory services with a Series 66 license, and holds insurance licenses for life, disability, and long-term care.
Tim lives in Chapel Hill, NC with his wife Tami and their two young daughters.
Liz Atkins
Administrative Assistant
Liz Atkins is the Administrative Assistant at White Oak Financial Specialists where she manages the day-to-day flow of inquiries, administrative paperwork, and necessary reporting procedures.
Liz graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in May 1992. She started her career as an educator but then transitioned to a stay-at-home mom. Liz has served on many PTA boards and volunteered on church committees. She reentered the work force in various financial roles that landed her at White Oak Financial Specialists in 2024.
Liz is also Tim’s big sister. They grew up moving around the globe as their father’s military career offered them a unique view of the world. She still enjoys bossing Tim around and making sure he stays on track.
Liz has four children who are scattered from Washington DC to western NC, and all points in between.
